Back to Basics
With so much of turmoil all around- Pandemic, Political mess, agitations, general unrest- it is worthwhile to sit back and give all this a thought. Is our life meant to be spent debating and arguing about these issues where we are mute spectators. We are rushing into things on which we have no control- rather we are aggravating the issues and turning friends into foes. Our rigid stands are only serving the vested interests. To bring peace and order into the world, we need to practice the following: -
1. We need to cut down our exposure to social media. It should only be used as a tool for communication and not as a platform to argue or debate. Our excessive use of social media is only making them rich and autocratic. In turn they are investing money earned from us into companies and individuals with monopolistic tendencies and doubtful integrity. This could bring a great harm to the social structure.
2. We should realize our power. Majority of the population falls in the middle level of the economy. Middle class is a misnomer created to weaken the class. It is prime class. It can make or mar a King . Likewise, it can lift a poor and hapless person to dizzy heights. However this class is scattered. Everyone is out to prove his supremacy on any subject. Its all debates and discussions and no action.Get into the action mode. Shun the products and services of unscrupulous people and organization. Totally ignore them till they do not prove their credibility.
3. Stop watching television and reading newspapers- as such their authenticity is questionable. Read history books instead. History has a tendency of repeating itself. That repeat time has come. Mahatma Gandhi started the boycott of the foreign goods in 1921. The same movement has to be repeated after 100 years. Only difference is that it is not foreign goods but our own disillusioned countrymen goods. We are proud people, citizens of a great country.
4. Focus on nature. Let’s not let it be further plundered. Let’s make it regain its old charm. Let us live with the nature. Everything is still safe. It is just a passing phase. We are resilient people and will overcome any minor hiccups.
5. Let us prepare ourselves to bring the change. It was we who elected these people to power. Our intentions were good but we erred in our judgement. Let’s not give it much thought but start identifying individuals who would justify the tasks entrusted to them and have the dignity and prestige of the position they would be occupying. Let statesmen and not petty politicians run the nation.
6. Let this be the middle of receding tide of mis governance, caste politics and everything bad harming our country.
Remember the wise saying: — “If you try to teach a pig how to sing, he will get more agitated.” Let the pigs stay in the sloth.
